Tarbat Ness returned to Catterick after a six-month break through the summer to win first time out, landing the same race for the second year running under a smart ride from Gina Mangan. He was also runner-up in the same contest in 2023.

That is now his third win on the Flat and he will return to hurdles this winter having been placed on a number of occasions through the previous National Hunt season.

It is great to see him retaining all his enthusiasm for racing. He's a very hardy horse, just like his dam Ethics Girl was, and he's been very consistent over several seasons now.

We are also looking forward to welcoming into training his two-year-old half-sister Smoo Cave, by In Swoop, and we hope that she too will be a dual-purpose prospect.
