Already the winner of a bumper and on the Flat, the versatile Little Peter made a victorious point-to-point debut at the Croome & West Warwickshire meeting at Shelfield Park on Saturday, giving his rider Harry Coleby a memorable win on his very first ride over fences.
Harry is a very important member of the team here at Beverley House Stables as his day job is as an equine chiropractor and his work with our horses has been invaluable. Already an accomplished showjumper, Harry has long been aiming to ride in point-to-points and it was a special day for all of us to see him come home with a winner and a big smile on his face.
It was also pleasing for John to train his first point-to-point winner having ridden between the flags in his miuch younger days.
We hope to see Little Peter and Harry back in action over jumps before too long and in the meantime we will enjoy having custody of the gigantic Piccadilly Hunt Cup which they won on Saturday.
We are very grateful to Graham Fisher for allowing us to use his lovely action photo of the dashing duo.
