Regrettably, we will be unable to take part in Newmarket's Open Day on Sunday, 23 September as John will be racing at Plumpton with White Valiant (pictured).
We had fully intended to open, as we have have done every year bar one when there was a similar clash, but White Valiant missed his intended run at Fontwell last weekend with a cut leg and the next convenient opportunity for him is to run at Plumpton. His owners live in Sussex so we always try to run him locally if we can, and he's fit and ready to run so this really is a very good opportunity for him.
We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause anyone who was planning to come to the stable on that day but we hope you understand that without John here it really wouldn't be right to take part. However, we are always happy to welcome visitors to the stable so please do get in touch with us if you would like to come to see the yard and the horses on another occasion.
The open day is no longer just a day, it's a whole weekend. There are 20 other Newmarket stables open on the Sunday morning and horses cantering on Warren Hill, plus plenty of fun and games taking part on the racecourse in the afternoon so there will be lots to see and do on both Saturday and Sunday
A full list of events can be found here.
We wish the organising committee, especially new chairman Charlie Fellowes, the best of luck with the weekend, which is staged in aid of local charities, and we offer our sincere apologies for not being able to be involved this year.
