Merrijig ends the season in style

After a slightly frustrating season, Merrijig bowed out from his 2025 campaign with a thrilling last-gasp win at Newcastle.

His victory under Gina Mangan marked the fifth win of his career and we very much hope that he will be back for more next year.

Merrijig has been a reliable campaigner for the Beverley House Stables Partnership over the last four seasons, running 28 times for those five wins and six placed finishes.

Initially quite difficult to settle in his races, he is a more mature character now and has formed a good partnership with Gina, who has ridden him in 11 of those races and won on three occasions. John can certainly share in the credit as he rides him every day as well as training him.

Like many of our horses, Merrijig will soon be off to the farm for a proper winter holiday before resuming training in January.
