Duchess ushers in 2026 with a win

Duchess gave the stable a first winner with our first runner in 2026 when bowling home nicely under Gina Mangan to win at odds of 28/1 on Sunday at Southwell.

It was a particularly good day for Gina, who rode her first treble, which included two winners for Tony Carroll. We are always pleased to see Gina do well and not just on horses from this stable. She deserves plenty more support.

It was great to see Duchess back in the winner's circle again after a slightly interrupted season in 2025. She's an honest, long-striding mare who is a pleasure to have around, and it was extra pleasing to see the Quieter Than A Mouse syndicate rewarded with another victory.

Tarbat Ness is likely to be our next runner and is pencilled in for a return to the Flat at Newcastle on 13 January.
