After winning for the first time at Brighton last month, Cloudy Rose posted her second consecutive victory, again over 1m4f, and this time at Beverley.
Sent off favourite with Oisin Murphy in the saddle, she took a little while to click into top gear but was soon travelling easily on the rail just behind the leaders. After a nail-biting moment when it looked like the gap wouldn't open in time for her, she burst through under a strong drive from Oisin to get her head in front where it mattered.
Cloudy Rose has now equalled her dam Zarosa's record of two wins for the stable, and her owner-breeders Roger, Maggie and Zoe Vicarage and their friends in the Runfortheroses syndicate will be hoping, as we do, that she can continue in this good form. Congratulations to the whole team, and to our friend and the filly's co-breeder Richard Kent of Mickley Stud.
We will have one more runner this week when Tarbat Ness heads to Carlisle on Friday. He has run twice this season, finishing second and third, and we are hopeful of another big run from him. His dam, Ethics Girl, was also trained in this stable and won seven races for The 1997 Partnership.
