Cloudy Rose returned to Brighton on Tuesday to post a convincing fourth victory at the track and the fifth of her career.
She won the amateur riders' race by eight lengths under a very polished ride from Paul Hainey on his first ride for the stable. It hopefully won't be his last.
Cloudy Rose is seven now and she was bred by Roger and Maggie Vicarage in partnership with Mickley Stud. The latter featured with distinction on the breeders' roll of honour at Royal Ascot last week thanks to the victory of Docklands in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes. Both Cloudy Rose and Docklands are by former or current Mickley stallions in Proconsul and Massaat.
Congratulations to Richard Kent and his team at Mickley, as well as to the Vicarage family and all their friends in the Runfortheroses partnership. It was great to see their girl back in the winner's enclosure at our lucky track - and she can definitely now be considered a course specialist.
