First win for Sacred Sprite

Writer's picture: Emma BerryEmma Berry

We were delighted to provide Kyan Yap and Raffles Dancers with a first victory in the UK with their lovely homebred filly Sacred Sprite, who won impressively at Wolverhampton on her handicap debut.

The daughter of Nathaniel was the first foal of the Dansili mare Lively Sprite, who hails from a family which has been very successful for George Strawbridge over the years and includes the Group winners Gatewood, Sleeping Indian and Aiken. Staying appears to be Sacred Sprite's forte and we hope she will be able to step up on her very promising performance on Friday night to provide her owner-breeders with more success this summer. She's a straightforward individual who is a delight to have in the stable, and we are very grateful to the Raffles team for entrusting us with her training.

The result provided another first in that this was the Dylan Hogan's debut for the stable. Dylan is riding his first season in Britain and is apprenticed to David Simcock in Newmarket and we hope to be hearing plenty more about him as the season progresses.
