Best laid plans...

We'd been hoping to spring back into action from this weekend with four runners in the week ahead but that's now looking like it could be just one after a rather frustrating few days.

Kryptos had been entered to resume at Leicester on Saturday in the Listed Richard III Stakes but John felt he just needed a little more time before his seasonal comeback, which should only be delayed a week or two.

Hope Is High is very much ready to run and is entered for Salisbury on Monday in what looks like an ideal race but with so much rain forecast in the next few days and with 'Heavy' already appearing in the Salisbury going description it seems unlikely that we'll be declaring her.

On to Brighton on Tuesday and we very much hope that Sussex Girl will return in competitive fashion to the course where she scored the first of her two consecutive wins last year. What is less certain, however, is that Roy Rocket will make the cut for his intended return to his favourite course for Brighton's Wednesday meeting. It's a date we've had pencilled in for weeks but with 29 horses entered we may have to be looking for other options for Roy's return to the turf.

We'll see what the next few days bring but hopefully we'll have outings to the races in the coming weeks, including a hurdling comeback for Roy's brother White Valiant.
